Most of these are essays from Newsday's op-ed page where around 1999 I started contributing, thanks to the lovely Marty Hollander, and over the years I probably wrote a couple dozen.  Then a few years ago they were going to run something I did about the end of Shea Stadium until I had to sign a contract giving away all rights to everything I had ever written for Newsday before. Wow.
